Keep it fun, don't worry too much about looks; the true car guys will appreciate mods done to improve the driving experience much more than some aesthetic mods anyway. That'll be the only way to be able to park it next to a gt-r and draw some attention. Unless it's an r35 of course.

Personally I'd be straight into some lighter weight wheels of the same specs as stock, maybe lower offset. As for different tyres, fun>fast for me, especially for an 86 so meh. Maybe some nice fixed back Recaros if that's your thing too.

Oh and the video? Yes please mcm go do this car!! ::)
